Miami, Florida 31 Marzo de 2012- El pasado 30 de Marzo de 2012, La Tribunacolus asistió a un evento en honor al Presidente Uribe en la ciudad de Miami, Florida. En este evento el Ex Presidente nos hablo de varios temas. En este evento se pronuncio sobre la necesidad de poner fin al conflicto entre la izquierda y la derecha en la región latinoamericana, y adicional a esto, manifestó que esa lucha solo afecta a los pueblos y a los países de la región. “No producen ningún efecto positivo” dijo Uribe. El Ex Presidente también manifestó la gravedad que significa que Venezuela este albergando terroristas en su territorio y que se niegue a cooperar de fondo para no darle espacios a la guerrilla colombiana. Uribe dijo que Venezuela solo ha entregado terroristas de tercer y cuarto nivel y que los cabecillas están todos en Venezuela sin que el Gobierno de ese país los entregue. El Ex Presidente también manifestó su preocupación por la intención del Gobierno Santos de pedirle a la Prensa que no publique ni hable de crímenes cometidos por las Farc. “Esto es muy grave” dijo Uribe, También hizo énfasis en que no se puede callar a la prensa para que denuncie a las FARC y mucho menos pretender que el país no exija seguridad.

Por otro lado, el Ex mandatario dijo que los terroristas se pueden derrotar cuando hay voluntad política, como se logro en su Gobierno, ya que por la vía de las armas se puede lograr el triunfo sobre el terror. Manifestó que Colombia ha avanzado mucho, pero que el país no puede permitir que se retroceda. Uribe manifestó que los procesos de paz solo favorecen al terror, especialmente cuando estos no tienen voluntad real de alcanzar la paz. Uribe puso como ejemplo a Francia, en donde dicho país puso fin al refugio de ETA en ese país permitiéndole al gobierno Español perseguir en caliente a esos terroristas en Francia, y como consecuencia, ese Grupo terrorista hoy busca como entregarse al estado bajo una solución política. Pero esto se logro bajo una cooperación real de países hermanos, lo cual según Uribe, no sucede en el caso colombiano y por ende Las Farc no entregan las armas.

Finalmente, Uribe hablo sobre la necesidad de buscar alternativas que mantengan el rumbo en la seguridad, como por ejemplo; El fuero Militar, la no legalización de la droga y no a procesos de paz que solo legitimen al terrorismo. Uribe manifestó que el tema del fuero militar es de suma importancia ya que no se puede tener una fuerza pública sin motivación y débil ante el terror. Uribe demando del actual Gobierno que no descuide la seguridad y sus políticas para mantener el rumbo de progreso y estabilidad. Uribe cerro hablando de la justicia y la importancia de fortalecerla, pero sobre todo la necesidad de criticarla y hacerla responsable cuando actúe bajo sesgos políticos. El hecho de que las pruebas de los computadores de reyes no fuesen tomadas en cuenta por el hecho que no fueron recuperadas por un juez en su momento es algo con lo cual el Ex Presidente no está de acuerdo y más cuando los elementos ahí consignados son de tanta gravedad. Al final, en el evento muchos colombianos le insistieron al mandatario que se lanzara al senado en una lista única, frente a lo cual el Ex Presidente manejo prudencia en la respuesta y convoco a los presentes a apoyar a las fuerzas políticas que están en el congreso que son de su confianza y tendencia.

Bogotá, 28 de Marzo de 2012- “No entiendo a qué está jugando el Gobierno. Por un lado, con el Marco Legal para la Paz, se están abriendo las puertas para desconocer la responsabilidad de los grupos al margen de la ley en el sufrimiento de millones de colombianos, se está asegurando impunidad en sus delitos. Y, simultáneamente, con el proyecto del Fuero Militar, se está debilitando la capacidad de acción de nuestras tropas, desprotegiéndolas jurídicamente” expresó tajantemente el Representante Miguel Gómez Martínez en el marco de la Discusión de la iniciativa parlamentaria.

El Congresista, miembro de la Comisión Primera, al intervenir en la Discusión del Fuero Militar, fue contundente al preguntarse ¿Cómo es posible que el Gobierno no haya notado que la verdadera solución para proteger a las Fuerzas Armadas es la revocatoria del acuerdo firmado por el Ministerio de Defensa y la Fiscalía? “Esta es la solución por una sencilla razón: todo lo que se quiere aprobar en el proyecto del Fuero Militar ya existe en el Código Penal Militar” aseguró Gómez Martínez.

En el afán por conseguir la paz –aclaró el Representante- se está entregando poco a poco el país a la guerrilla. “Esta guerra la está ganando el terrorismo que ve cómo la democracia es incapaz de defenderse, al tiempo que los oportunistas de la paz ponen en peligro la estabilidad de las instituciones” afirmó Miguel Gómez.

“Estamos ofreciendo el país a los terroristas y, con la ausencia de un fuero sólido, entregando a nuestros hombres. Estamos lanzándonos irrevocablemente a una empresa de arriesgadas consecuencias, estamos cruzando el Rubicón” finalizó Gómez Martínez.

Is Miami a Third world country?

The Answer to this question is simple; No. I have heard this Statement many times especially from US Citizens who are not bilingual, or if they are, they don’t seem to have an open mind. Some people who live in South Florida seem to forget that although Miami has a big Latino population, it doesn’t make it a third world country. Saying this is extremely racist and uncalled for. I agree with the fact that South Florida has many challenges to resolve and that some Hispanic communities have not yet adapted to living in the United States and must do so at once. But this is not a reason to call Miami a third world country or that South Florida is not America simply because many people speak Spanish or have a Spanish accent when they speak English.

Some people seem to forget that many Hispanic Communities have helped build South Florida and turn it into a business center for the Americas. The Cuban and Colombian Community have build and helped in pushing South Florida into a hub for business, tourism and cultural exchange. The growth of Miami over the years has been remarkable. Even though South Florida has grown over the years, nowadays faces many challenges. The city faces high unemployment rates, Underpaid jobs, and many qualified professionals are still looking for jobs that fit their profile, but that’s not a reason to overlook the positive things that many communities have brought to South Florida. Moreover is not a reason to make uncalled remarks and discriminate the Hispanic Community.

I am amazed how many people seem to ignore and not value the immense contribution of the Latino community to South Florida, and furthermore, how they bring progress to many places in Florida and the nation. Due to the Presidential race, many candidates have bombarded the Hispanic community with racial attacks on issues that need a solution, which is not precisely kicking people out. Many will argue that people should speak English and that only English should be spoken. I agree with that idea, and I also think the government should make it a requirement. Calling a city a third world country because people are from Latin America, and because some of them don’t speak Spanish, Is just ignorant and absurd. The other day I heard someone say that just because many nurses at some Hospital in south Florida had a Spanish accent and they had a Spanish background, that person had felt like she was in a third world country. I was so shocked by the racial comment that I asked myself what that person was doing living in Miami if it is so bad. I guess the answer is that Miami is not that bad, is it? I guess it would be the same as if we went to a New York, in Coney Island, where many Russians live, and said that because they lived there, New York was a third world Country or a communist, socialist section of America. That would be extremely racist and uncalled for.

All in all, I think there’s a lot of ignorance towards the Hispanic community, and those who are bias against Latinos should look for a different city than Miami. Miami has been for decades a bridge between America and the Americas, and not knowing that part of history explains why many make such stupid comments filled with ignorance and absurdity. As I stated before, Miami has many challenges to resolve, but not because we have challenges and Hispanics live in the city people should call the city a third world country. I agree that people should speak English, but that’s not a reason to make racist remarks against a community that has given so much to a city where without Latinos, Miami would not be what it is today, and that’s a fact.

Speculation About Bales Case 'Serves No Purpose'

WASHINGTON, March 26, 2012 - Criminal and administrative investigations continue following charges announced March 23 against Army Staff Sgt. Robert Bales, the NATO International Security Assistance Force commander said here today.

Bales, who is being held at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., is charged with killing 17 Afghan civilians and trying to kill six others March 11.

U.S. officials have paid compensation to the victims' families, Marine Corps Gen. John R. Allen confirmed to reporters during a Pentagon news conference, noting that such payments are according to Afghan cultural norms.

"I extend once again my sincere condolences to the loved ones, family members and friends of those who were killed and injured in that senseless act of violence," Allen said. "I also extend my deepest sympathies to the Bales family, who are going through a great deal right now. They, too, deserve our support as they come to grips with the inevitable and drastic changes ... in their lives."

Allen said because investigations continue and jurisdiction rests with officials at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., he could not to go into more detail about the case. He added that investigators "have and will retain my full support to let the facts take them where they may."

Investigative and judicial processes will proceed according to military regulations, Allen said.

"Speculation in the media and through anonymous commentary serves no one's purpose in our interest and in our earnest desire to see justice done here," he added.

The special court-martial convening authority at Joint Base Lewis-McChord must next decide whether to direct an investigation of the charges under Article 32 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. No case can proceed to a general court-martial unless a command first conducts an Article 32 investigation.

Under the UCMJ, the maximum possible punishment for a premeditated murder conviction is dishonorable discharge from the armed forces, reduction to the lowest enlisted grade, forfeiture of pay and allowances, and death. The minimum sentence is life imprisonment with eligibility for parole.

Obama Discusses Situations in Iran, Syria, Afghanistan 03/07/2012

WASHINGTON, March 7, 2012 - President Barack Obama took questions from reporters at a press conference this afternoon on his administration's policies and intentions on situations in Iran, Syria and Afghanistan.

"When I came into office, Iran was unified, on the move, had made substantial progress on its nuclear program, and the world was divided in terms of how to deal with it," the president said.
Over the past three years, he added, "we've been able to ... mobilize unprecedented, crippling sanctions on Iran. Iran is feeling the bite of these sanctions in a substantial way. The world is unified; Iran is politically isolated."

Obama said the United States will not countenance Iran getting a nuclear weapon.

"My policy is not containment. My policy is to prevent them from getting a nuclear weapon because ... that could trigger an arms race in the region or give terrorists access to such a weapon," Obama said, adding that the United States has been in close consultation with its allies on the strategy, including Israel.
Obama met yesterday at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss Iran and other issues.
"The argument that we've made to the Israelis is that we have made an unprecedented commitment to their security. There is an unbreakable bond between our two countries," the president said.

"But one of the functions of friends is to make sure that we provide honest and unvarnished advice in terms of what is the best approach to achieve a common goal, particularly one in which we have a stake," he added.
If action is taken prematurely against Iran, Obama said, there will be consequences for Israel, for the United States and for the region.
"I do think that any time we consider military action, the American people understand that there is going to be a price to pay," Obama said. "Sometimes it's necessary, but we don't do it casually."

Sanctions are starting to have a significant effect inside Iran, the president added, " ... and because the sanctions are going to be even tougher in the coming months, because they're now starting to affect [Iran's] oil industry [and] their central bank, and because we're now seeing noises about them returning to the negotiating table ... it is deeply in everybody's interests -- the United States, Israel and the world's -- to see if this can be resolved in a peaceful fashion."

The United States will continue to apply pressure, he told reporters.
"To resolve this issue will require Iran to come to the table and discuss in a clear and forthright way how to prove to the international community that the intentions of their nuclear program are peaceful," the president said. "They know how to do that. This is not a mystery."
On the topic of Syria, where the government is killing its own people in an attempt to quell a year-long popular uprising of citizens who call for the ouster of President Bashar al-Assad, Obama called the violence there "heartbreaking and outrageous."

The international community has mobilized against the Assad regime, he added, and it's not a question of if Assad leaves, but when.
For the United States "to take military action unilaterally, as some have suggested, or to think that somehow there is some simple solution, I think is a mistake," the president said.
"What we've done is to work with key Arab states, key international partners -- [Secretary of State] Hillary Clinton was in Tunisia [recently] -- to come together and to mobilize and plan" how to support the opposition, provide humanitarian assistance, and continue the political and economic isolation, Obama said.

"We are going to continue to work on this project with other countries," he added, "and it is my belief that ultimately this dictator will fall, as dictators in the past have fallen."
The notion that the way to solve every problem is to deploy the U.S. military is incorrect, the president said.
"We've got to think through what we do through the lens of what's going to be effective," he added, "but also what's critical for U.S. security interests."
Taking a question about the inadvertent Quran-burning incident by U.S. troops in Kabul on Feb. 20, Obama said the situation concerns him.

"I think that it is an indication of the challenges in that environment, and it's an indication that now is the time for us to transition," he said.
The violence directed at International Security Assistance Force service members is unacceptable, Obama said, and Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, who is nonetheless eager for more responsibility on the Afghan side, acknowledged that.

"We're going to be able to find a mechanism whereby Afghans understand their sovereignty is being respected and that they're going to be taking a greater and greater role in their own security," Obama said.
"That, I think, is in the interests of Afghans. It's also in our interests. And I'm confident that we can execute [that], but it's not going to be a smooth path. There are going to be bumps along the road, just as there were in Iraq," he added.

None of this is easy, he said, and it never has been.

"I think that President Karzai understands that we are interested in a strategic partnership with the Afghan people and the Afghan government," Obama said.

"We are not interested in staying there any longer than is necessary to assure that al-Qaida is not operating there," he added, "and that there's sufficient stability that it doesn't end up being a free-for-all after ISAF has left."

Afghanistan and the United States "share interests here," the president said. "It will require negotiations, and there will be times where things don't look as smooth as I'd like. That's kind of the deal internationally on a whole range of these issues."

Casos de asesinatos, corrupción e ilícitos, entre otros son el pan de cada día en nuestro país, una cruz que hemos tenido que llevar a cuestas y estamos cansados de soportar, igualmente los medios de comunicación al parecer se sienten complacidos de sacarle provecho a la situación y generara morbo en la teleaudiencia, pero por otro lado pone en evidencia las injusticias que se viven a diario.

Fatídica noche de Halloween

El caso más reciente de escándalo lo protagoniza la muerte de Luis Andrés Colmenares, estudiante universitario que falleció en extrañas circunstancias, la fiscalía investiga a dos de las principales sospechosas que se encontraban con él minutos antes del lamentable hecho, Jessy Quintero, amiga de la víctima y Laura Moreno, ex novia de Luis Ándrés.

En toda una novela se ha convertido este caso que ha sido portada de periódicos y comidilla para medios de comunicación, recientemente se llevó a cabo una audiencia para llevar a cabo dicha investigación, donde decenas de personas coparon el recinto, allí se presentaron dos hechos relevantes: los defensores de las jóvenes pidieron nulidad en el proceso y el fiscal 11, Antonio Luis González, manifestó que está cerca de encontrar el autor material del presunto homicidio.

A esto se le añade declaraciones del abogado de la familia del estudiante, Jaime Lombana, quien afirma que una de las hipótesis que tiene el fiscal es una posible responsabilidad por parte de los escoltas de Laura Moreno.

Igualmente la investigada dio por primera vez declaraciones a un medio de comunicación, en donde dice que respeta las decisiones del juez, que sigue confiando en la justicia colombiana y en que saldrá totalmente libre e inocente, además afirma que en el momento de los hechos ninguno de los supuestos implicados estaba acompañado de escoltas.

Recordemos que Luis Andrés Colmenares murió en extrañas circunstancias en la madrugada del 31 de octubre de 2010, en un caño del parque el Virrey, al norte de Bogotá, después de una fiesta de disfraces realizada en un bar del sector, según el testimonio de las investigadas, la víctima salió corriendo en estado de embriaguez y cayó al caño, produciéndole la muerte, mientras que la contraparte afirma que el fallecimiento del joven fue producto de un asesinato.

La audiencia se reanudará el 12 de marzo.

El joven grafitero

Un 17 de agosto de 2011, en la calle 116 con Avenida Boyacá, Diego Becerra, un joven de 16 años, se encontraba en compañía de tres amigos pintando grafitis en los muros de aquel lugar, cuando fueron abordados por dos policías, los jóvenes salieron corriendo cuando presuntamente uno de los patrulleros le disparó a Diego por la espalda.

Este caso causó revuelo, pues la versión de los uniformados decía que se trataba de un grupo de delincuentes que habían acabado de atracar un bus, sin embargo existían inconsistencias en la versión, ya que no se encontró ninguna denuncia por parte de los pasajeros del vehículo.

Tras audiencia realizada en el mes de febrero el patrullero de la Policía Wilmer Antonio Alarcón no aceptó los cargos en su contra y fue cobijado con medida de aseguramiento, asimismo la Fiscalía pedirá 40 años de cárcel para el policía y citará a 25 uniformados y 7 civiles para determinar si hubo una presunta alteración de la escena de los hechos y continuar la investigación.

El carrusel de los Moreno y los Nule

El caso que causó revuelo e indignación entre los bogotanos lo protagonizó y lo sigue protagonizando el flamante ex alcalde Samuel Moreno, su hermano Iván Moreno y los hermanos Nule. Un hecho que ha dado mucho de qué hablar y ha dejado a su paso miles de millones de pesos perdidos, obras todavía inconclusas, investigaciones y largas audiencias.

El fallo más importante lo ha dado la Procuraduría que destituyó e inhabilitó a Iván Moreno por 20 años para ocupar cargos públicos, por el delito de concusión, exigir sobornos, de esta manera se hace algo de justicia por el llamado carrusel de la contratación que tantos dolores de cabeza le ha costado a la ciudadanía y que ve como los dineros públicos son destinados para beneficios personales.

Igualmente, la próxima audiencia del caso Samuel Moreno será llevada a cabo el 22 de Mayo, allí serán llamados a declarar el alcalde de Bogotá Gustavo Petro, la ex presentadora Viena Ruíz y los primos Nule, estos testimonios serán clave para determinar la culpabilidad de Moreno en el ‘carrusel de la contratación’, así como 130 cajas con evidencias.

Los delitos que le imputa la Fiscalía son: cohecho, peculado, interés indebido en la celebración de contratos y concusión, que le podrían dar al ex alcalde de 5 a 22 años de cárcel.

Asimismo, el ex subdirector jurídico del IDU Inocencio Meléndez y los empresarios Nule ya fueron condenados.

Agro Ingreso ‘Inseguro’

En 2009 la revista Cambio denunció las irregularidades del programa Agro Ingreso Seguro, el cuál habría entregado millonarios subsidios a narcotraficantes, luego de investigaciones el caso ha desencadenado en uno de los hechos más polémicos, la medida de aseguramiento contra Andrés Felipe Arias, ex ministro de Agricultura del gobierno Uribe.

La olla podrida se comenzaría a destapar con unos dineros que presuntamente a través del programa se le habrían otorgado a Ismael Augusto Pantoja Alias ‘El Negro’, por medio de un crédito preferencial por 500 millones de pesos y una capitalización rural por 194 millones.

Y luego involucraría a prestantes familias del Valle del Cauca y del Magdalena, entre ellas a la de la ex señorita Colombia Valerie Dominguez, así mismo un juez condenaría al ex viceministro de Agricultura, Juan Camilo Salazar, a 10 años y tres meses de casa por cárcel por los delitos de peculado por apropiación y celebración indebida de contratos.

Estos cuatro casos reflejan la situación social del país que a diario ve como sus estructuras políticas se corrompen y el dinero impera sobre la justicia, esperemos que el mínimo de aquella justicia que se vislumbra en el camino sirva para generar conciencia y construir un mejor mañana.
