After watching the Republican debate on CNN on November
22, 2011, I definitely feel that unless the Republicans come up with a moderate
candidate, they will not win the presidential election in 2012. Some of the
Candidates don’t seem to be focused on what America wants. It seems these
people are living in some other country. Michelle Bachmann seems to think that
war is the only thing Americans seem to want to discuss in these moments of
crisis. Sometimes she seems in a beauty pageant and not in a presidential
debate. Candidate Cain seems to think that all illegal immigrants are
terrorists. Cain said that through the border many terrorists have entered
America, which is completely untrue, but somehow Cain seems to believe this is
true. Romney apparently forgets that if he wins the nomination, he will need
the vote of the Latino community and, of course, the communities who have
family members that live in the dark. Romney’s views on immigration are totally
fascist and have no connection to what really goes on in Real America.
The real America is the one that understands
that illegal immigration is not only about Latinos. Many Europeans, Asians and other communities also
share the drama of the Latino community and these People can’t be neglected by
a candidate who wants to be President. Romney can’t say he will throw out
people without thinking the consequences of doing that. It is clear illegal immigration
must be solved, but the answer is not kicking people out. Many of these people
have lived in America for years and have contributed to the country’s growth.
Romney and his ideas are too radical and eventually will fade away. Saying an
amnesty would generate a magnet for people to come to America is a complete Lie.
People continue to come despite the raids and the economic crisis. What will
solve the problem is an effective policy on immigration and a law that
legalizes those who have lived here for some time. Romney needs to look into
his policies because otherwise will not win the nomination due to such radical
and fascist ideas. Although it is true that President Obama’s popularity has
fallen, it is clear that if the republicans elect a candidate with such radical
ideas as Romney, President Obama will win, and there’s no doubt about that.
What caught my attention was republican
candidate Gingrich. He has good stands on many issues that really coincide with
what the nation wants from a candidate running for President. On Tuesday’s debate
he seemed focused on the issues that matter. He gave views on issues like
immigration which appeal to many voters. Many have criticized Gingrich, but he
finally said what needed to be said. Having
a candidate like Romney say he will throw out everyone, as if he was talking
about animals, I think it is totally fascist and radical, especially if you
want to be the President of the land of the free. Gingrich gave a more moderate
speech, and as the election progresses, he will gain more and more supporters to
win the nomination. Gingrich has become a better candidate than his
counterparts, and I’m sure in the end will win the nomination. Romney may have
the money and time preparing for this election, but his views are wrong and he
definitely seems to be on the wrong track.
Republican candidates have to remember that
America is a big melting pot with citizens of many different ethnic
backgrounds, and if they continue to attack minorities, only talk about war,
launch furious attacks of hate against President Obama and not deal with the
real issues, I’m sure President Obama will win. Voters will see a disorganized
Republican Party with non promising candidates and will decide to stay with the
current President. Gingrich seems to be the candidate that will be tough to
beat down the line by President Obama, so it is up to republicans to decide who
will win the nomination. But my humble advice is that electing a radical like
Romney, or a candidate who talks about electrocuting people like Cain, or Perry
who only talks about the border is not the way to go.
Gingrich won this debate and begins to become a
strong runner for the republican nomination.
