President Obama Strikes back

On the revolution of Ideas!

As if we were in a scene from the legendary movie Star Wars, President Obama struck the nation on his speech on jobs to Congress on September 8, 2011. In a high tone and demanding actions to be taken regarding the economy, Obama told the nation his new plan called the job act. According to Obama, the Job Act will provide jobs and get the economy moving. For the first time in his entire presidency I saw Obama talking with power, striking back in the way a President should demand things from congress. He told congress that we should move forward in approving this bill, which will benefit millions of people around the nation, and give America the boost it needs to bounce back from these hard economic times. I am a right centered Liberal, and I believe that although I do not share the socialist and left tendency of the president’s administration, I have to say that for the first time he actually did what I had suggested he do a few weeks ago; he had to show what he was made of, and prove that the change he had promised is a reality and not just mere talk. On his speech on September 8, 2011, I finally saw a strong president.

For Congress, I believe it is time to move forward and stop, as the president said, “the political circus”. That political fight between the right and the left has only destroyed America and nobody else. While we fight, our enemies gather forces to destroy us economically and technologically, and we cannot allow that to happen. For the first time, I saw the president saying the things that he has to say, and demanding action.  I saw a political analyst say that Obama had used another nice speech to convince America, and maybe 7 months ago I would have agreed with him, but now I have to say to this Republican analyst that it is time to shut up, get down to business and let the president do his job. If he fails, we all fail. I believe it is time to stand together and push America out from the gutter in which it has fallen.

Many of the key issues in the job act include many ideas that many republicans and democrats have agreed on in the past, so now it’s time to vote on those ideas which benefit the whole country and not spend six months debating whether it is a good bill , trying to get votes, or take away votes from both sides. It is time to vote on the things that benefit everybody in America. Countries like China are moving forward and taking a bite out of the pie, and we can’t allow that to happen, especially if it is because we can’t decide what’s good for us and what it is not. As I have expressed many times, I am a man of Ideas, and although I have disagreed with the President on many issues, I believe in this act and as he said, “it must be passed”! This message must be clear because I stand behind the President on this issue and I hope Congress does the same. There’s no reason not to pass it. Of course, Congress has to make sure it’s not another stimulus or just another spending spree from the white house. But aside from making sure it is the right bill or not, the things that benefit everyone must be passed because the American people need to be working again, they need food on the table and fighting among ourselves won’t solve the problem.

All in all, we can’t allow this great nation to fall, so it’s time to stand together. This is a good idea, I support it and so should every congress woman and man. Every American should pressure his congressman to pass this legislation that will give hope to the American people. More than hope, it’s an action taken towards solving the problem, which is the thing I like the most. I like ideas transforming into actions and that’s governing. Finally the President understood that talking nice just won’t cut it anymore, so more action, Mr. President, and I’m sure your numbers will go up. But, Mr. President, you must move to the center, sir, otherwise you will not be reelected. Only time will tell, but this bill is an action taken on the right direction and both parties should support it without exceptions. Less talk and more action!

Team work is the key, and I truly find the lack of faith disturbing. Obama seemed like lord Vader taken command of the force. Obama Strikes back with his job act. Let’s hope those ideas transform into more jobs, which is what America wants.
