The South
American nation’s cup is now ready to have its final match. The Final will be
between Uruguay and Paraguay. Uruguay had an extraordinary come back. After not
having such a good initial kick off, Uruguay came back and showed why it was 4th
in the last world cup 2010. Uruguay played an excellent game and proved why it
should be one of the finalists of Copa America 2011. Uruguay eliminated
Argentina in a close game that was decided by penalties. Tevez missed a
decisive penalty kick and that changed the game. In the end Uruguay went ahead
to play Peru, who eliminated Colombia, in a boring and not so well played game
by Colombia which ultimately lead to its elimination. Uruguay played an
interesting game against Peru and the Incas showed that their win against Colombia
was just luck. Peru won against Colombia not only cause they were able to score
the goals that Colombia couldn’t, but because Colombia played a terrible game.
All in all, great teams like Colombia left the tournament along with Argentina,
Brazil, Chile and Mexico.
Uruguay is
fair finalist, and we hope we have a great final. This South American Nation’s
Cup 2011 had great moments, but the most disappointing thing was that all the
favorites were eliminated. Venezuela was a great surprise but it wasn’t enough
against Paraguay. Paraguay didn’t play an awesome game, but in the end, in the
decisive moment, was able to show its experience and classify to the final
against Uruguay. Venezuela was a good surprise, but not enough to move into the
finals. Venezuela still needs to have more games to proof it has what it takes
to move forward into a final of Copa America which is only reserved for the
best of America. Venezuela will have to wait to become a stronger national team
in order to join the best of America.
Finally, it
was a boring game between Paraguay and Venezuela, but all in all, Paraguay went
ahead into the finals leaving a Venezuela, who tried its best, but in the end couldn’t
pass over Paraguay in the penalty kicks. Venezuela has a lot of future, and
will be a team to have in mind in future tournaments.
The penalties
are always a lottery, but Paraguay was the one to win this gamble. One penalty
kick was enough to put Paraguay in the finals with Uruguay. Venezuela will play
the 3rd place and 4th with Peru on Saturday. On Sunday Uruguay
will play Paraguay in the final of Copa America 2011 in the Monumental Stadium.
This should be an exciting game between two great teams.
We definitely look forward to seeing this game
and may the best team win.
