The World Cup sub20 Colombia 2011 kicks off.

On the Revolution of Ideas!

The world Cup 2011 Sub_20 is now underway with the initial games having been played. Yesterday Colombia played against France is an exciting game. Although before the game there was a thunderstorm in Bogota, which made the beginning of the game a bit difficult, the game finally began with a delay of almost an hour. It rained so much in Bogota that the stadium was flooded and the city had to call for extra help to get the show on the road. In the end everything went well and the stadium was ready for Colombia VS France. The tournament has begun, and many games have been played already including Brazil vs. Egypt which didn’t leave a good impression. Uruguay and Portugal tied, but at the end got into an absurd fight when the game was over. Korea played Mali, and Korea won the game and played a good game.

Colombia on the other hand played France in Bogota, and although the French began winning the game with an exciting goal, Colombia came back and won the game by 4 goals to 1. Two penalties were called by the referee and only one was scored, but all the other goals were great, well played and well thought out by the players from Colombia. France showed it has a good team, but in the end the height of Colombia’s capital hurt the French in the stretch of the game. The French tried to make a comeback but they just didn’t have the air in their lungs to do it, although they had the talent to make a comeback. Colombia nevertheless showed it had a talented team, the game could have ended 6 -1 because Colombia had many other chances to score, but the French defense did a good job avoiding this from happening. Colombia will have to continue to show good soccer so it can advance into a decisive state in this tournament. Colombia has been really powerful in sub-20 categories, so let’s hope that now that it is hosting the world cup, it can finally win a world championship.

This event and organization seems to be just perfect. The stadiums look so beautiful, the people of Colombia and the cities were the games are being held give the fans a sense of tropical paradise because there’s a lot to discover about Colombia than just drugs and violence. Colombia it’s a country with a lot to offer and this world cup will show that face of Colombia. Colombia will show another face to the world that many don’t know, and that will surface to show the world that the coffee land is a safe and beautiful place.

This world cup has just begun and a lot of surprises will come with it. We only hope its only good surprises because the last South American nation’s cup was a disaster. It was a disaster since all the good teams were eliminated including the host country Argentina. So, yesterday at Bogota we saw a great game between two great teams and we hope to continue seeing great soccer in this world cup 2011. Colombia showed great talent on the field as well as France, but in the end it was Colombia who won the game. This is just the beginning, so we shouldn’t think Colombia is going to win the world cup, but it was a good start for the Colombian team. I just hope the media and Colombia’s President do not begin to tell these players that they are the best before the play the games, because then they will make the same mistake they did in Copa America. They said they would win against Peru and they eventually lost, so please let’s allow these boys to play, to make it to the final, win the championship and then we can say whatever we want to the Colombian team. I have always said that you can’t celebrate something without winning it first. So let’s play soccer and may the best win.

The World cup Sub-20 kicks off, so let’s enjoy the games and Colombia!
